Isn’t this beautiful peaches and cream baby girl adorable? I don’t think I could get enough of her. She has the most beautiful milky skin. She did so good for her newborn session with me. I love how content she was.

Hello There!

My name is Kristy and I’d love to be your newborn photographer. I know there are lots of us out there — people who photograph sweet little cherubs and baby bumps — and so many do a great job.

As a mother myself, though, and as someone who’s so passionate about photography that I’ve dedicated my life to perfecting the art, I can’t help but want to capture more tiny toes, button noses and sweet smiles.

More about me being a mom: I have three grown babies in their 20’s and one grand baby! It fills my heart to be able to continue working with tiny humans after mine have left the nest. And the grand baby just brings all those detailed memories back.

Whether you’re a brand new mommy, someone who’s been in the game for a few years (like me) or you have yet to give birth to your precious bun, one fact remains true: photographs of your children are so important. Not just because they grow and change so fast, but because they last forever and because your loved ones want to stay in the know! And since mine have left the nest, it seems to be even more important to me. Sometimes if you don’t document it, there is a great chance you may loose the memory altogether. 🙁

All those moments and details? They’re absolutely worth preserving.

In addition to being a mother to three grown babies, I’ve also got a wonderful husband who’s been with me for over 29 years. I couldn’t do all this without him, that’s for sure. Together we run two businesses from our home. Our favorite things to do lately is long walks on the beach (totally sounds like a dating line, I know LOL), its where we clear our heads, talk about future plans and goals all while burning some calories ;).

Enough gabbing about me, though. Should you have any more questions or simply want to talk, I’m always here.

Looking forward to meeting you,

Kristy

Just look at this sweet guy! SO handsome and sleepy. I enjoy adding his parents to his newborn session gallery. It’s so important to include these moments that slip through time so quickly. Be sure to visit my details page for what to expect during your session but here are some tips on preparing for your little one’s newborn session with me.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Keep baby awake for a minimum of 90 minutes or more prior to your session start time.

*If this is not working for you please don’t stress, sometimes they stay asleep even for their session. But sometimes if parents tell me they slept through the night or have been asleep all morning, our chances are higher for them to be woken up sometimes during their session and stay awake.

Nursing? Avoid spicy foods for 24 hours or more before your session.

Schedule shots, circumcision or immunizations the week (or at least 48 hours) prior to your session date.

*If you use a pacifier, bring it with you but don’t use it prior to the session and please leave the stuffy attachments off. These get in my way while posing them

Your hands may be visible. Time for that manicure!

PACK YOUR BAG

Sessions can last up to 3 hours, so a “Newborn Session Kit” is a great idea.

Extra Milk or Formula

Extra Diapers

Baby Wipes

Pacifier

Maternity Session Intro:

If you’re like a lot of the soon-to-be-mothers I meet, you may be a little camera shy right now. Especially when you’re seven to nine months pregnant. And who can blame you! After all, your body has changed over the last several months, your baby is sitting low and you probably feel uncomfortable even walking from the kitchen to the living room sofa. Believe me, I can absolutely relate.

Let me tell you something, though. You are gorgeous. You are stunning. In this moment, you are the absolute epitome of natural beauty. And every single picture we take together will showcase the inherent grace and elegance that accompanies all women with child.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there is an unparalleled luminescence that radiates from a pregnant woman. A glow so unique to pregnancy that it’s impossible to replicate under any other circumstance. These thoughtful, artistic maternity photos of you will be treasured by you, your significant other, your friends and family and, yes, your unborn child, forever.

In your maternity shoot, we’ll take a variety of photographs of you in different poses. As long as you’re comfortable, we’ll get photographs of you laying down, sitting, standing and leaning. Some will hone in on that adorable baby bump, some may be silhouettes of your frame and others will capture the bond between you and Daddy to be.

Isn’t this adorable couple just glowing with all that mentioned above?! I just love how beautiful she looks.

I love babies and isn’t this sweet baby girl the sweetest?!

Wiggling, stretching, sweet little newborns — nothing is more precious.

I love to create artistic images that reflect the deep emotional bond you and your baby share,

along with every adorable detail. I love the smile she gave us.

My goals are simple. When you see your images, I want you to instantly remember these intimate, fleeting moments and to relive the indescribable joy you feel right now. These images are meant to be heirlooms.

Investments in future memories that will warm hearts for generations.

Let’s create your future memories now — together.

I get asked often about what products I use during my newborn photography sessions. I have used a variety of things throughout the years. The items in this list are some of my must haves that I reach for during every session. Sometimes I have fussy babies and they are definitely needed, other times I have very content babies and I never have to reach for them. I keep them all at arms reach so my sessions are rarely interrupted with having to grab something to soothe these precious little ones. Every baby is different. Here is my list, links to purchase are in the title.

The Well Known Baby Shusher

This is a very helpful gadget and if you follow any newborn photographers behind the scenes, I am sure you will hear this little gadget in the background. It is a white noise machine that helps soothe babies. I think most times I am so use to hearing this machine, it definitely gets me focused! lol but for me it is a staple to have not too far for any newborn session.

A Vibration Machine:

Sometimes babies need an extra pat on the back or their bottom and this helps give you an extra hand. Definitely keep this near by for a little extra help.

A Soothing Heartbeat Sound Machine:

This little gadget is a great little noise maker and I turn it on for every session. It’s soothing to babies to hear the heartbeat. Something they heard for 9 months in the womb.

Hospital Grade Pacifiers:

I know some Moms don’t like to use them but during a newborn session where we are moving baby from position to position it is a MUST to have near by just in case babies need a little more soothing techniques to keep them happy and sleepy. This style is the only one I will use in my newborn studio. I keep them on hand just in case Moms forget to bring one and many times don’t have this right style that babies like.

A Warm Heater:

A warm heater is a MUST to keep those babies warm during my table poses where their clothes are off or minimal. Keep a baby warm with a full tummy is very important before a session can begin. Once the table poses are done and we swaddle babies nice and snug, is when I will turn my warmer off.

I hope this list helps you if you are either a parent or a photographer just starting out and needing a little peace of mind of where to start. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. And if you have a product that you cannot live without, shoot me an email and I can check it out. 🙂
