Trust me I know how hard and time consuming this can be! I hope this blog post helps you out. It doesn’t have to be super hard when you remember that our final goal is to be focused on you and your family. I love moments that you will remember more than the clothes you are wearing. Here are 4 tips that I recommend following:

  1. Pick your color palette. Once you choose your color than the rest should come much quicker. I usually like to build off Moms outfit first. But not always needed. Once Mom has found the outfit she loves then you can pull the colors out from that.

2. Start with Once piece and build from there. Which is taking us back to tip number 1. Once Moms outfit is chosen and colors are pulled from there it can make this a bit easier. You can then choose some solids or a pattern that does not compete with Moms outfit or pattern but that still compliments each other.

3. Don’t have everyone match. This keeps your images not so boring but colorful and unique. I would definitely stay away from bright colors and busy patterns for everyone.

4. Choose some accessories. I love texture! Weather it be in our surroundings or what everyone is wearing. Choosing scarves, jewelry, bow ties, suspenders etc are always helpful to build on.

Remember, I am here to help and have created a Pinterest board to give you some ideas. I add to this often so be sure to check back often. Also, here are some brands that I love to shop at:

American Eagle has fun textures

The Gap has your true staples and solid colors

The Knotted Fern has some adorable woman and children’s clothing. I love their linens and have stocked my studio with some of their items.

I hope this has helped. Be sure to check out my Pinterest board and reach out anytime for my suggestions.
